From the outside, those square pizzas in the window looked amazing. Inside, the retro movie posters, popcorn buckets, and Blockbuster nostalgia set the mood and had my hopes sky-high. Unfortunately, the food and service didn't live up to the atmosphere. Things started off rocky when our kid's meal came out first, only for the staff to realize they had completely forgotten about the rest of our order. When our food finally arrived, it felt rushed--and it showed. The garlic knots seemed reheated, undercooked in the middle, overloaded with basil, and lacking that punch of garlic and parm they needed. Wow! I've been out west for a few years and there's only one place that has a good East Coast pie. Read the reviews for Gianni's and wanted to give it a shot while I'm in town. Ordered a large for me and the family and waited about 10 minutes. It was worth it. As all pizza lovers know, it's not easy to get the balance of crispy and chewy right on the crust. Nailed it. Absolutely fantastic! Toppings are high quality and the sauce was balanced with everything so it didn't distract from the other flavors by overpowering. The folks behind the counter were friendly and you could tell that they enjoy working with each other. It matters. When employees are happy, they make it better for the customers. Avoid at all costs. The food quality has gone STEEPLY downhill. And they cannot get an order right to save themselves. I’ve ordered from there maybe a handful of times over the last year and every single time something is wrong. Today I ordered a wrap and a sub sandwich. What did I get? 2 wraps. Meanwhile I was charge an extra $5(!) for a sub sandwich. They offered to deliver me another sandwich - but by the time they would’ve made it and brought it to me would’ve taken an hour. Not worth it. It’s a group of people who look completely disinterested in doing any sort of work in there and they clearly don’t care about getting ANYTHING right. No wonder it was empty on a Saturday night.

I've been meaning to stop in here since I started working periodically in Red Bank, and it did not disappoint!! I had the specialty hot honey pepperoni. It is covered in pepperoni, with just the right ratio of sauce (more like delicious crushed tomatoes) and cheese, and a light and crispy, yet soft crust. Absolutely delicious. They have a tiny room with a few old school arcade games, and eclectic pizza place decor like movie posters and old pizza hut chandeliers. Prices were on target or cheaper than other places around. I will definitely come back when I'm craving a slice in Red Bank!

Super thin crust plain/pepperoni slices. I enjoyed the angry grandma. Friendly person behind the counter. Clean large tables. Not sure what more to ask from a local pizzeria.
