Germantown Commissary

I am so glad that we stopped here--the ribs were fantastic and had a nice, seasoned crunch on the outside, but very tender and perfectly cooked on the inside, also, the sausage is some of the best that I've ever had. The brisket was also very delicious, everything here was perfect and so flavorful. I love the little biscuit that comes with the food, I made little brisket sandwiches, and the barbecue sauce here is very good too. Our server was super friendly, personable, and gave us very helpful suggestions. The atmosphere is nice, like you are in someone's house having dinner. Will definitely come back here whenever I am remotely close to Memphis in the future. What a gem!

I had an amazing experience eating here with my dad. We went in the evening and the wait took about 3 minutes. I ordered a Brisket Sandwich with Mac & Cheese and Baled Beans. Definitely would recommend. The staff and food were great!! Coming back soon!

Ribs and Brisket were amazing! Melt in your mouth. Green beans are perfect. Coleslaw and deviled eggs is a delicious combo. Great hot BBQ sauce. Even the banana pudding had me wishing I could move to Germantown! Loved passing through here. Wish I had learned about it sooner!

I enjoyed a wonderful table service lunch this morning. Staff were friendly, professional, and prompt. The atmosphere was classic - a perfect Tennessee diner. I had the regular BBQ sandwich plate. A delicious sandwich with perfect flavor. I of course add the coleslaw to the sandwich. Today’s lunch was the best BBQ in quite a while. I will be back!!!!

I had the pleasure of dining at the Germantown Commissary once again, and this place never lets me down. It’s a true classic — from the old-school décor that takes you back in time to the warm, welcoming Southern charm. The food is always top-notch. The beef brisket was tender and full of flavor, perfectly smoked and seasoned. The sides are just as impressive — everything tastes homemade, from the crispy fried okra to the hearty beans and the fresh, creamy coleslaw. You can really tell they make everything from scratch with care. Whether it’s your first visit or your tenth, Germantown Commissary delivers the same great quality every time.
