George's Best Gyros

Stopped in for a quick meal. Employee was super friendly and nice. We had our food within 10 minutes of ordering. Ordered 3x gyros with fries and one hot dog. Pretty good value for the amount given. Would Definitely come back.

BEST GYRO!!! Writing this while eating at the restaurant, food was out quickly, We didn’t intend on eating inside but decided to on a whim, the portions are HUGE! Worth the money, will be coming here again, it’s hard to find a gyro that’s less then ten bucks that’s also delicious, seriously worth the almost 40 minute drive home after this

Food was mediocre—But what you see in the picture was literally $20. Before the tip. And even tho the girl acted put out when I asked for salt and a fork she still of course expects a tip. Fries and a Gyro 20$. I ordered extra meat but I’m not sure where the lady put it. Maybe in her pocket? The portion was small. The flavor of the meat was lacking and bland. The fries were dry and old. I gave it 2 Stars instead of one because I liked the hot sauce. Food in downtown Iowa city is getting more and more ridiculous in price. But this is ludicrous. I will definitely not be returning to this place ever. If you want a good gyro then find Hicks gyros, which is a food truck. They are delicious, bigger, and less expensive.

Never been here before and only went cuz it was one of the only places open. The dude absolutely loaded my gyro up with lamb and was so fire. Definitely a good deal for the amount of meat u get. Definitely coming back

That is not a Chicago dog. Close but not quite there. Maybe call it a Chicago inspired dog. Baklava was ok for not being homemade.
