George Brooks House Bed & Breakfast

We had a pleasant stay at the George Brooks House. Will received us and gave us a good introduction to the property as well as dinner recommendations in town, but that was the only interaction we had with the owners. The property was quiet and restful; just outside of St. Michael's and off the busy main highway (and easy to miss because there is no obvious signage). Our room was spacious, clean, amd well-lit. The grounds were attractive. Coffee, tea, and soft drinks were available all of the time, as was a community refrigerator (none in rooms). Breakfast included a tasteful selection of muffins, a cup of mixed fresh fruit, a piece of French toast casserole, and bacon. My wife and I enjoyed a relaxing two-day getaway at this charming bed and breakfast. We stayed in Room 3, located on the first floor just steps from the pool. The room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and featured a lovely jacuzzi tub. Complimentary coffee, water, and non-alcoholic beverages were available, which was a nice touch.||The property itself is stunning, meticulously landscaped with roses and other vibrant plants. It’s just a short walk to the heart of town, or an even quicker ride using the free bicycles provided. The pool and hot tub area were clean and well cared for, making for a peaceful retreat.||Will, the innkeeper, was incredibly welcoming and shared the fascinating history of the property with us. He also prepared delicious breakfasts each morning that we thoroughly

Our stay was very relaxing. The breakfasts were delicious, and we were able to eat them in the beautiful and well-maintained garden. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub after a long day sightseeing. We especially liked learning about the history of the house and the family that had lived there. George Brooks was a Black man who became very prosperous in the hauling business. He took in and raised seven of his sister's children in the house when she died unexpectedly.

We arrived at about 4 pm. The road into the BandB was a bit hard to find and a sign on the road would help. The owner was just leaving and he told us how to check in. Once inside we were greeted by a charming reception area and had no trouble finding our room. It was terrific. Warm and inviting with wonderful views of the pool and beautiful gardens. All the amenities were as promised. The jacuzzi was delightful. We had expected to stay 2 nights but were interrupted by the untimely death of my wife's sister. The owner was very gracious about the 1 night stay. We definitely plan on coming back!

We stayed at this bed-and-breakfast for two nights and three days and had a lovely time. It is just shy of Saint Michael’s so it’s a really quick trip into town from the location. The staff was super friendly, kind and helpful. We will definitely stay here again. We celebrated our anniversary here and had a terrific time. Can’t wait to come back.
