Genki Izakaya 元気

This has been on my list for a while and I was blown away by the food and service! Every single thing we ordered was delicious and the service was attentive and amazing. Some food highlights were the skewers (pork belly, chicken and leek, and beef skirt) and wagyu fried rice! The tornado omelet fried rice, fatty salmon, and crab croquette were soooo good! Our server popped in periodically to make sure we were good and refilled our hot water a bunch (I was recovering from a sore throat, so this was SO appreciated 🥹). Cannot wait to return!

My recent visit to Genki Izakaya was truly exceptional, and I can't recommend it enough. From start to finish, the experience was a solid 5 out of 5 stars. Our server, Nancy, was absolutely fantastic. She was attentive, and friendly. She made us feel right at home and elevated the entire dining experience. The food was the real highlight. The Tornado Omelet Fried Rice is an absolute must-try—it's as delicious as it is visually impressive. For an appetizer, the Ube Fries were a total standout. The unique flavor and perfect crispiness made them a surprising and memorable start to the meal. To top it all off, the bartender crafted a very nice Old Fashioned. The food was absolutely incredible — every dish we tried was fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. The yakatori platter were savory and smokey. The Yuzu Miso Scallops were a perfect balance of flavor. The Sake Don was so fresh and the Genki Roll had great texture and rich flavors. What really elevated the experience was our server, Bee. Her recommendations were spot-on and made the whole meal even better. She was attentive without hovering, warm and friendly without being overbearing, and genuinely seemed to care that we enjoyed everything. She checked in at just the right times and guided us through the menu with confidence and enthusiasm. Service like that makes such a difference. Came here with a friend on a busy night and managed to get seated immediately (which is good because people behind us started getting put on a wait list). While we got seated and greeted immediately we did end up waiting almost 20 minutes before our waiter came back to take our orders. Once we got our food order service was much smoother with dishes coming out pretty quickly. Though pacing was a bit off as our entrees came out before the last of our appetizers. The nigiri was excellent and the skewers plate was also delicious. The hand roll was good but much smaller than I've come to expect from a "hand roll". The entrees were both...fine. Compared to the starters and sushi they were a little underwhelming. I found the the spicy miso ramen to be a little sour (?) not in a way that ruined

We had a great experience at Genki Izakaya! The food was absolutely delicious and everything we ordered was full of flavor. The vibe was very chill, our server was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the night. Overall we had such a great time here and will definitely be coming back again. Highly recommend!
