Gen Ramen

I am nothing if not picky about my ramen. While I am not a connoisseur, I have had ramen in most major US cities and in areas of significant Japanese influence including Hawaii, SF, LA, etc. So I'm probably a snob. I have visited probably 6-7 ramen shops around the Triangle and this is by far the best combination of food, service, and atmosphere, with a heavy emphasis on food. Their Tonkotsu is umami-rich with the right balance of salt and their noodles consistently have excellent consistency and texture. I have been here 5 times and each time had a similarly good experience. Whenever I try another ramen shop, I have found myself wishing I was here instead.

Honestly, the best bao bun I've ever had I think. Definitely in the last year or so. Got the pork belly one, truly just amazing. The tonkotsu was also fantastic. Was eating by myself for lunch, didn't have to wait to be seated. Staff was very friendly.

Beyond amazing so grateful this place wasn't packed when I got here cause it should have been! Perfect ratio of broth (one of the richest broths I've ever had layered with so many flavors!) to ingredients great service amazing environment! Definitely a hidden jewel up on the hill!

Nice finding Hakata style ramen in Raleigh~ Fries were served with ketchup + sriracha(?) mayo. Thought both the fries & edamame were a touch on the over-salted side, but otherwise delicious!
