Galen's Restaurant

I am disappointed that I am only just now discovering this little restaurant. I noticed it on my way down to Albertville and decided to stop by for dinner on the way home. Parking is a little on the small side, but the quality of the food and the service is outstanding. I had a catfish fillet, hushpuppies, pinto beans, and fried okra, Do not go if you are looking for a fine dining experience. However, if you like catfish, want some of the best tasting pinto beans that you will find anywhere, cornbread as good or better than your Mawmaw made, and fresh (not out of a 5 lb frozen bag) fried okra ... then you should stop at Galens. I watched many dishes as they came out of the kitchen, and everything that I saw looked great. I will order the pot roast next time because it looked fantastic.

Quick self seating at a comfortable table and restaurant was full of customers. Friendly staff got us drinks and our order in first thing since we were short on time. Food came out to order and tasted delicious. Don't miss the biscuits and gravy.

BEST BREAKFAST IN THE SOUTHEAST! We travel all over the country and we think Galen's breakfast is the best! Generous portions, fresh and hot, good service. This place is a must go if u r in the Lake Guntersville or Huntsville area. Their lunch and dinner r equally tasty!

If you are looking for a place that makes you feel like your eating at grandmas house in the south, this is it!! The servers are pleasant and attentive. The food now this is where the magic is. It’s seasoned perfectly, and the taste is just right. The portions are big enough to fill you up and happily go into food coma when you get home!

Good food and service, good variety of food and everything we have had there over the years has been really good.
