Gaines County Library

The physical materials at the library are subpar. Are they likely to have the book you want to check out? Probably not. And if you’re planning to use their online e-book collection through Libby, all I can say is good luck. In the two years I’ve had my library card, I’ve found exactly one book on Libby that was actually available. The wait for that e-book was so long that I ended up getting a library card from the Lubbock Public Library (free for Gaines County residents, by the way) and read the book on my Kindle the same day. They say they offer Hoopla, but not once has my library card ever worked for that resource. The white lady sitting at the desk is so rude and very unprofessional I walked in to print papers out and her tone was very rude and she was not helpful at all!!! I’m glad my ink is coming in today for my printer so I won’t ever have to walk in that place again everyone else was very helpful but the lady sitting at the desk when you walk in she need to go through training on how to be professional who hired her???

Great library, I really love the books, friendly staff, easy to make a card, and staff is very helpful with that too Update, I loved this library when I could still use it, but my library card expired and they won't allow me to renew it without a American ID
