Such a fun dining experience! I loved the historical theme — it really feels like you’ve stepped back in time. The food was filling and delicious, and everything we tried was well great. I was pleasantly surprised by the live entertainment, too. "John Hall" made an appearance, which added so much fun to the dining experience. Definitely a great spot if you’re looking for something a little different with great food and atmosphere!

We had dinner here a few weeks ago and had a great time. Both George Washington's Favorite and the Prime Rib were very tasty and a great value! The atmosphere is calm and the decor is cozy. We'll be going back again soon.

Typical brunch for an historic place. Food was fairly average with glimpses of high potential. We had the steak and eggs, creole breakfast (grits, bell peppers, steak, and scrambled eggs), omelet, and burger. Two out of four needed some extra seasoning. Service was great throughout.

Went here as soon as they opened on a weekday and got in immediately. The sandwich meat, horseradish, and au jus were good but the bread tasted a little old. The food was decent overall but not the best. Service left a little to be desired. I would recommend for the historical value alone.

I really enjoyed having a colonial Virginia experience in the DC area. Just 10 minutes from the Reagan airport. I haf the peanut soup and a colonial cocktail called Stone Fence made with Rum, hard apple cider and bitters. You can get it sweet or unsweetened. Parking is easy at the Tavern Square Garage.
