Right around the corner from home . This place has very good BB-Q. the best thing was the chicken..and I'm not a chicken fan. The dark meat they use is out of this world. The sauces they have to accommodate the food doesn't overpower everything. And we were finishing up our lunch . The waitress told use they do Steak with shrimp on Fridays. So we're definitely coming back for that. What we ordered was the sampler plate. It was enough food for my wife and myself. I got the baby back ribs and chicken. And again, the chicken was to die for. Everything else was great too. Now the collard greens. Didn't have much flavor on them but that didn't hurt my experience at all. We stopped in for dinner at this locally owned BBQ spot on the way back home after our day trip to Athens. We ordered the sampler platter to share along with a sweet tea and a lemonade. The sampler player came with brisket, chopped pork, ribs, Mac and cheese and beans. The meat was tender, flavorful and enjoyable. The Mac and cheese was good but even better with a bit of salt that I added. The beans were tender and seemed ketchup based but were tasty. The tea was a bit sweet for my liking, but I'm also not southern. We eyed the peach cobbler and apple crumble but were too full for either. When we walked in we were greeted kindly and told we could sit anywhere we wanted to. Within just a few minutes our waitress was at our table kindly asking for our drink order. We always stop here whenever our travels take us this way. I ordered the chicken plate with 2 sides. The food arrived quickly and hot. The squash casserole was the best I've ever eaten. The lime beans were not overcooked as at many places. I love the variety of BBQ sauces available. We enjoyed the vinegar sauce so much, we bought a bottle. Giving out a bag of chips upon arrival is simply brilliant!

The chopped brisket, lima beans, and creamed corn were all tasty, but they don't and can't toast the sandwich buns. The BBQ sauces are ok, but the spicy is definitely not spicy. The restaurant wasn't busy. The lady at the cash register told me to take a seat and a waitress would help me, but 2 waitresses kept talking while folding silverware until I went up and asked for someone to take my order.
