Fuji at WoC

Fuji has always been a fan favorite of mine. However we have not been in for quite a while. We were craving sushi so this was an easy choice. As always we were greeted in a very warm way from the hostess and was sat a a round top in the middle of the room. Our server was very charming and attentive. Said differently, he gave us plenty of time to relax and make choices. We had a fantastic bottle of wine - Joel Gott Cabernet which was a perfect match for the food. Most people say you should have white wine with sushi - I disagree, I think red is sometimes better. We had a mixed bag of food - I got the WOC fried rice which is excellent! I had a rather strange experience here, as I ended up visiting two days in a row for lunch — both times for my first visit to this restaurant. On the first day, I came with one daughter and her friend; on the second day, I returned with my other daughter. We were served by the same waitress both days. While the service on the first day already felt somewhat inattentive (despite which I still left a 25% tip), the second visit was noticeably worse — particularly after she clearly recognized me. Whatever her assumptions were about my returning twice with different children, it should not have affected the service. As for the restaurant itself: overall, I liked the atmosphere. Always a joy to dine at Fuji...we visit when in Quincy to see family. The food is always delicious, and the staff and atmosphere are warm and welcoming.

The restaurant offers a wide variety of sushi dishes and specialties made with fresh ingredients. The tofu and steak were particularly impressive, although I am not a fan of claypot rice meals. The salt and pepper tofu was exceptionally well-prepared and crispy. The ambiance inside is excellent, and it is possible to observe sushi chefs in action. The staff is attentive and friendly to customers.
