Customer Reviews
My friends Mallika and Bob have created a really fun sushi restaurant with a creative animation theme that you really must check out. Chef Bob is the master behind incredible menu items, like the Miami Maki, Beef Yakitori and the Chicago Maki, I was blown away. The wonderful, fresh flavor of their sushi is only matched by the beautiful presentation. Don't miss Friends Sushi Izakaya !!
Hands down one of the best sushi spots I’ve ever been to in the world! Somehow the masterful sushi chef has created specialty rolls that surpass Nobu’s most expensive dishes. The chef, a true entrepreneur, has created a friendly, immersive, and incredible dining experience. The affordability of the menu is mind boggling. 10/10 would recommend. Do not miss how fresh the sushi is! Pro tip: don’t miss rolls like Mad House, if you do, you’ll absolutely regret it. Thanks for everything! (this may be one of my first review posts — yes it’s actually that good!) totally worth trekking thru the treacherous winds of Chicago to get to this food mecca! Next time I’m around will definitely visit!
Walked in without a reservation and did not expect fast service at the bar. We were excited to order several appetizers and food. After waiting about 20 minutes just to place an order, a roach crawled down the Sapporo sign and onto our menu. We left immediately. The space itself looks like a great spot, but seeing a roach so close to the kitchen raised concerns about food safety and sanitation practices.
Absolutely loved their takoyaki and ebi katsu bowl. The ramen was light and hearty - usually like big bold flavors, but Friends ramen is still good. Small portions are great if you want to try a little bit of everything. The food came out very quick and the service was efficient and friendly. Would come back!
Cute little gem! The sushi was delicious, and quick! Service was great. The crispy spicy tuna, dragon and can you handle it were very flavorful and fresh!! Worth trying.
