Franklin House Tavern 1746

First time eating here since they reopened a month or so ago. The food was truly excellent, from the apetizer to dessert. I had the meatloaf and loved it. The waitress was kind, attentive & patient. We were a party of 8 and not the easiest table to deal with, but all of the refills were served in a timely manner and the food came out all at the same time. I would recommend it for larger and smaller groups.

Very, very nice restaurant. Our waitress was very nice and very patient with us old people. My friend is very hard to understand at times and talks very quietly. She didn't get frustrated with him. The ambiance was quite quaint and made us feel warm even though it was only 25° outside. Our food was outstanding. My steak was done perfectly. The presentation was very eye peeling. This was my first time going here but I'd go back in a heartbeat. We had reservations and parking was a breeze for our 5 PM seating.

Came for the ghosts, stayed for the food and so should you. We sat in the Tavern section so the Mains are not available for lunch. We shared a sweet potato Gnocchi appetizer in a cream sauce that was amazing!!! Hubs had the smash burger and I had the Voodoo Burger medium rare. The house chips are wow. Sooo good. My burger was done to perfection and juicy with a nicely seared outside. Hubs Smash Burger was quite tasty. We both enjoyed a Franziskaner Weissbier. We then shard an EggNOGGin' and a Banana Bread Old Fashioned. I highly recommend the EggNOGGin. It was so good I literally sucked it down. Hubs really liked the Old Fashioned but I am not a fan of Whiskey. So stop by, say hi and enjoy some good, hearty food and a few drinks. Just do not drive impaired. Thank you.

Great service and food. The place is reportedly haunted. I didn't experience anything paranormal but I had chills and goosebumps the entire time I was there!

Our first time dining with the new ownership. My husband ordered the short ribs and they were excellent. I ordered the crab cake and was not impressed. My Godmother is from Baltimore and so I am spoiled with “Maryland crab cake” recipes. I like a jumbo lump crab cake with old bay………so now I know to not order the crab cake at this establishment. Will definitely give it another try and order something else.
