This place is incredible! The host is fantastic and the property is very well kept and beautiful. 60 acres of nature and a glimpse into history, there’s a sense of peace and serenity to be enjoyed. Will return! A++
I've wanted to stay at Four Mounds for at least a decade and am SO happy we finally had the chance! We stayed in Billy's Room, which was very large and had amazing windows. It shares a bathroom with Viola's Room, but they don't book the second room to a separate party so that the bath is not shared. The bed was quite comfortable and we appreciated the reading chairs too.||The property has historical interest. The staff member who served us our amazing breakfast (fresh-baked pumpkin bread; the best home fries I've ever had...) gave us a short talk about the history of the property, and we walked around the grounds. ||Book on a weeknight for an extra-good deal!
Situated on the western bank of the Mississippi River, the Four Mounds Inn has two buildings for guests-the gray house or White House. These are 1900 homes situated on a gentleman‘s farm with acres of Prairie land to hike and enjoy. the breakfast was amazing. We were able to chat with other guests during breakfast in the gray house dining area. Our grey houseroom was the former master bedroom. It was meticulously maintained in its original state. we so enjoy when Modern people work hard to provide guests with a wonderful experience. There is fire ring with lawn games and wonderful recliners. Definitely a place to come and relax for a couple of days. You’ll need to find a place to eat nearby for lunch or dinneras this inn is out in the country and it’s quite dark at night. We will be back.
It was such an incredible stay and find! So happy to have come. Willow was fantastic and went above and beyond. Will be back!
This place is a treasure! So peaceful and quiet with beautiful views over the river, you would never know you were so near town. Our hostess, Dee, was friendly and welcoming and told us the interesting history of this venue. We stayed in the wonderful cabin, but toured the houses and would gladly stay in any room on the property. We ordered breakfast which was served in the big house and it was beyond our expectations. Cooked to order eggs/sausage/veggies with granola/yogurt/fruit, coffee and juice. Delicious!|Cabin was clean and cozy. We sat on the deck overlooking the river in the afternoon and ended up making sandwiches for supper because we didn't want to leave the ambience. We could have cooked - the kitchen is well equipped. After breakfast we walked the trail around the acre
