Absolute slam dunk 5/5. Food is both incredibly good and inventive. They have dishes I haven't seen in many places, it's all just so flavorful, and it's reasonably priced (though not cheap by any stretch) to boot XO escargot was so memorable - probably the best snail dish I've ever had. Squab was excellent but if we went back we'd try the rabbit or chili crab. Green beans were dynamite, as was the Sichuan cabbage. Had some tasty sake. Service was warm and speedy. Such a unique experience and fully deserving of the hype.
Was wondering what the hype was all about and it didn’t disappoint. The Claypot rice was really good. They do it a little differently where they already put in the soy sauce instead of doing it ourselves, but it was delicious. We also tried the fried rice and the sesame tofu pudding. Great atmosphere and they also put on some classic HK music! If you wanna eat here without reservation, better get here around 5 to put your name down !
We made reservations for 10pm on Saturday (that was the only time available) so we attempted to walk in the night before around 6pm and they said it would be a 1.5 hour wait. So definitely make a reservation! We really enjoyed our dinner here. They start you with free peanuts and cucumbers which was a nice touch. We ordered the fragrant fish eggplant, lamb skewer, mapo spaghetti, deep fried squab, and escargot with milk bread. I would personally skip the lamb skewer and mapo spaghetti next time, they didn’t wow me. The rest of the food was absolutely delicious. The squab had super crispy skin and very tender meat. The escargot was in a delicious spicy garlicky oil which was perfect to soak in the milk bread. The eggplant was buttery and yummy. We ended our meal with the mango pudding which
Waited in their walk-in line 10min before opening and got seated right away. The black pepper steak and garlic pea shoots were the standouts of the night. The black sesame tofu pudding wasn’t my favorite though - the black sesame paste was too thick and the tofu pudding wasn’t smooth/silky enough which didn’t eat well together. But overall, great flavors.
Snagged a last min reservation and was super excited to try. I’d say overall we enjoyed most of dishes, but like others reviewers said, their food is on the saltier side than the standard saltiness you’d expect eating out. Everything would’ve been great if it was either less salty or less oily. One dish I didn’t care for was the rabbit. The breading was so thick and taking multiple bites didn’t do the trick, so I had to cut it off using a knife.
