Was disappointed with my sandwich. First off the sandwich was small. I know I shouldn't be expecting the size of the ones in Italy but it was like the size of my hand. For $14 I was expecting larger. For the sandwich itself the focaccia was all soft. A good focaccia bread is supposed to be crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. This wasn't that. Ordered the Mortazza which had all soft ingredients on the inside so the sandwich was just all mush. The crisp of the bread was really needed. Liked the flavor of the mortadella though. Probably won't go back. There are better sandwich places in the area.
I think I spent a good 10 minutes staring at the menu because every single sandwich sounded amazing. Gotta say, my expectations were low but Fossette Focacceria definitely delivered on a sandwich nearly as good as one I've had in Florence / Rome. And when I say "nearly" it's at no fault to be them as I'm sure it's hard to get quality ingredients on par with Italian meats / cheeses these days. Will absolutely be back to try more! P.S. my picture an dothere really don't do it justice
Holy Moly, what an awesome sandwich! I had the italiano, the focaccia was soft, airy and flavorful. The sandwich was a perfect balance of salt, fat, acid, heat. Salt and fat from the meat, acid from the vinaigrette and heat but not too hot from the hot pepper. Can’t wait to return and try other items.
So good! I was strolling around union market and hadn’t seen this place before so I thought I’d give it a try! I got the tartufo sandwich and it was delicious! Ingredients were all very fresh and the focaccia is done very well. Service was quick and easy, I ordered via kiosk and it was ready in about 5 minutes. I think this will become a regular spot for me!
Ordered chicken parmigiana sandwich for carry out. Chicken was dry, it lacked marinara sauce. Not good overall.
