Fort Steele Rest Area

Fort steele rest area has some flowering trees in front of the building which adds a very nice touch. Inside the rest stop building there is a water fountain. The women’s bathroom have four normal stalls and one handicapped one. The restrooms are clean and well stocked. This rest stop is close to the Fort Steele historic site. There is an information panel about the historic site available in front of the building . The building is passive solar. That means it is designed as such that it cools and warms with sun’s help. picnic tables are fully enclosed. The pet areas are clearly marked. The road entrance is poorly marked. There are no vending machines for food.

really like this rest area. There are plenty of parking spots for trucks, and it’s incredibly clean and well-kept. I have a dog, and I always pick up after him, so I was really glad to see that there are dog waste bags available here. There are also lots of trash cans, both small and large — which is awesome! It’s very nice to be in such a clean place. The restrooms were also well maintained and fully stocked with toilet paper, soap, and a hand dryer. Thank you for your work! 😁🫶🫶

I love around stopping her when I go through. A lot of room for my dog to run and stretch after a long ride in the car. It's always clean. I've never seen any dog droppings

Really like this rest area. Huge parking for trucks. The day we stopped it was very clean. It's an older rest area but it's well kept. Has picnic buildings too.

Great spot for truckers! Clean bathrooms, parking for probably 50-ish trucks, and tonight it was only about 1/3 occupied at 8 PM. Most of the rest areas on this stretch of I-80 are closed for renovations, so it's great to have such a large one still open.
