Food from the Soul

OMG!!! For my birthday my kids treated me to dinner from Food from the Soul. I had the fried fish platter, with mac and cheese and cabbage. My son had fried wings and the mac and cheese. My daughter had the oxtail platter with candied yams and mac and cheese. Everything was absolutely mouth watering. Each takeout container had to weigh 5 pounds. And since this was our first time eating here we received a wonderful surprise-dessert on the house…banana pudding which was amazing! My only regret is that I didn’t try this place sooner 😂. Will definitely be back. Thank you, Food from the Soul, for making my birthday meal super memorable 💕

If you’re looking for flavor that feeds the soul, THIS is the spot! The fried fish here is absolutely unmatched – golden, crispy perfection on the outside with tender, juicy goodness inside. Seasoned just right, it tastes like love on a plate. Every bite had me doing a little happy dance at the table! The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and feels like family – the kind of place where you don’t just eat, you experience food. Pair that fish with their sides (don’t sleep on the mac & cheese, greens, the salmon eggrolls etc!) and you’ll know why everyone keeps coming back. This isn’t just a meal – it’s soul food heaven. Trust me, once you try it, you’ll be telling everybody you know to come get a plate!”

Made three visits to this place before posting this review, and wanted to try a variety of what they had on offer. The fried chicken? Crispy, crunchy and moist. The jerk chicken? Falls off the bone and has a nice heat to it. The shrimp? Crisp and juicy, could maybe use a bit more seasoning but it’s still pretty good. Trina was a great help in deciding on what to try first and even gave samples of sides, all of which are great. My only gripe is that it’s a bit expensive, but it’s great food and made to order so I can accept that. I’ll be coming back for sure.

Oh lord, where do i start, this place was amazing. They were so sweet and welcoming. I got Mac n chz, cabbage, and chicken wings. THE FOOD WAS TOP TIER mouth still watering thinking about it. So flavorful, def something you don’t wanna miss out on. They were so sweet to our kids and even had some candy for them. I cannot wait until they expand and we are able to sit and enjoy the atmosphere. 10/10 recommended

Being that I'm not from Pennsylvania, I was looking for a sit in restaurant but it turnt out to be take out only. The customer service was amazing, very welcoming. The food was chefs kiss. I got a little taste of everything, well almost except the collard greens and cabbage. I can't wait to visit again before my work contract is up. Don't meet me there, beat me there :)
