Food City

I am beyond disappointed with the lack of service at this location. It’s one thing to close a check out lane; it’s another to see a customer with a full cart approaching and shut your light off to avoid doing your job. No "sorry," no "I’m closed," just pure laziness. I ended up at self-checkout—which is not designed for full carts with a weeks worth of groceries—doing the job of the staff. Two mid aged female employees were right there "working" on the bag stands while one of them casually eating a banana. Not one of them offered to open the check out lane and help me out. I am very disappointed in the staff at this location with lack of professionalism and basic work ethic. The whole situation made me feel like an inconvenience. (This happened around 8:40pm on 1/26/2026)

The staff at this Food City store as well as the one in Tazewell are exceptional. My mother is 88, and sometimes she can be a pill. She will argue for fifteen minutes over a nickel. The staff at both stores are so patient with her and generally helpful. I can’t overstate how impressed I am with them.

Their meat is outrageous, their bakery cakes are horrible anymore and u bought a candy bar at the check out and it was so old it was dried out. I only buy a few sale items and ice cream there.

I love their super burger combo. The gentleman working the register there is on the ball. He knows his job and is very friendly, helpful and fast. The price for the food you cnt beat. Its 2nd for best burgers in the area in my opinion. Then after 4pm you can get 2 dinners with drinks for $12.00. You cnt eat at McDonald's or Wendy's for that and its not good healthy foods.

Good selection but prices a bit high. This store is not in an urban area so that is a factor. Clean and friendly staff.
