Everything tasted incredibly fresh — the bread was perfectly crusty on the outside and soft inside, and the meats and toppings were full of flavor. You can tell they use high-quality, fresh ingredients and really care about what they serve. The place has that classic, traditional Italian sub shop vibe — simple, cozy, and full of character. The staff was friendly and quick, and the whole experience felt authentic from start to finish. If you’re craving a real Italian-style sandwich made right, Fontano Subs is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Got a 12 inch sub. It was a good quality sandwich. I got the American with everything on it. Changed the cheese for provolone. Overall 10/10 sandwich for the size and freshness of the bread was refreshing. Place is like a tiny store with drinks, chips and other stuff. Location has tables inside to sit and enjoy. Date: unknown Price: 10-30$ Food: the make pretty good sandwiches. The options for how to make your sandwich are very diverse. Not only that they’re totally worth it with having large sandwiches that can make you full. They do not skimp out on loading the sandwich. Which is really good! The bread is fresh and really compliments the sandwich. (One little thing was the juice was coming out of the sandwich from all the toppings, so it was a messy but the taste was great!) Service:

Stopped in after touring UIC. What a delight to find this place. A customer was waiting for a large order and told us that we should order the pot roast sandwich. We ordered that and the meatball sub. Both were delicious. The service was fast and the atmosphere old school small grocery was just perfect. We will definitely be back.

Turkey sandwich on my first visit. They are not skimpy on the deli meats, you will be satisfied with the quality and amount. Add the vinegar and oil, it’s definitely a plus. Will be back for the meatball sub.
