Fleming Island Public Library

​I recently visited the "brand new" Fleming Island Public Library, and frankly, it’s a massive disappointment for a facility this size. While the building is large (massive 25-foot ceilings and plenty of square footage), it feels like the budget was spent entirely on the walls and none of it on the community’s needs. ​The Good: ​The facility is clean, and the bathrooms are well-maintained (though very cheaply designed and basic). ​The Bad: ​Lack of Workspace: In a building this big, there are only FOUR tables. Forty would be a start, but four is an insult. If you plan on studying, reading a book, or plugging in a laptop to work, don't bother. There were NO new popular Christmas books out when I came into check out Christmas books to read while I was on my vacation. Not having bestselling Christmas books is ridiculous.
