Flat River Cafe

Second visit. As good as our first! This is a wonderful little diner out in the country. Attached to the Hurdle Mills Market... which is a nice little country market with their own butcher shop (perfect for grabbing a few things to take home after eating lunch). The staff here is SUPER! So nice and just the right amount of attentive. Pure country diner atmosphere. Packed with locals. Not much to look at from the outside --- don't blink or you'll drive right past it. Daily specials are great. Last time I had fried chicken. This time is was baby back ribs. YUM!! Wife had the bbq plate, which she loved and had enough to take some leftovers home for dinner. Hidden gem! Sanitation grade 100 when I was here. They had ran out of the BBQ Chicken special already but the cheeseburger and hot dog all the way didn’t disappoint. If you happen to be in Hurdle Mills for some reason, don’t miss it!

This is a small town café. It gets 5 stars for a small town cafe. The food was good, we were there for take out. The egg,cheese, bacon sandwich, my wife had was very hearty for the price. Atmosphere is small town southern country, so be prepared for that. It’s not a restaurant, so don’t expect restaurant type food and service. When we were there, it was very clean, service was friendly and food well worth the price.

The absolute best filet mignon I've ever eaten. No marinate, no preservatives that make you want to drink a gallon of water afterwards at half the price of nearby restaurants. I definitely recommend

Was great food! I typically don’t like fish but I loved their fish that I tried off my grandpas plate and will definitely be coming back again. Chicken tenders were delicious and our server was great.
