We went for breakfast and had a great experience. The service was a definite 5/5; everyone was incredibly friendly, and multiple employees checked in on us throughout the meal. The food was also very good (4.5/5). My wife loved her chocolate pancakes. I had the Shrimp and Grits—the texture was what you'd expect for grits, and it had a wonderful savory aroma almost like a beef stew. We would definitely recommend it!
The sausage gravy was the best I've had from a restaurant. Had the breakfast platter with sausage gravy biscuits. Everything was delicious. The service was great also. Fast and friendly. I definitely recommend this place. I'll probably eat here every time I work as a volunteer for the Oak Island runs.
Fixins is where your breakfast dreams come true. 30 minute wait on a Saturday morning as expected, but well worth it. 3/4 of us got the Rise and shine breakfast which was delicious. Eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes and biscuit all cooked to perfection. My father enjoyed the pancakes and sugar free syrup. Mimosas were on point. Best of all our server was excellent. Extremely welcoming, knowledgable and prompt. Don’t know how your morning can start better than this! Edit: you know I had to come back for the biscuits and gravy! Perfection.
I loved the yellow whole grain grits with cheese, bacon & eggs over easy, perfect! Amazed that the gluten-free bread was so fabulous.
Business was slow today is one reason the atmosphere was so great. The noise and hustle gets me sometimes. The food was point on. I got the omelet with potatoes and toast. The potatoes were fresh with salt on them. Salting as soon as they are cooked is key. The omelet was great with peppers and onion oh and ham. All the filling were fresh. The sour dough toast was good also. I like a little more brown but with sour dough it makes it really crunchy and tough. But that's what I like. The coffee was Bald Head Coffee and I tried the medium and dark. I preferred the dark. It had a great taste, but I like stronger coffee. The service was great and attentive. I will go back for sure. Also they silverware you can eat with. It's not the cheap that racks your tongue and twists in your hand when you
