Firehouse Deli

1/2 dozen bagels on a pinky shake! Let me explain please: I’m not local to the area, I’ve been coming over to Bluepoint to house sit for my Sister. Last week At 6:00 AM I went into the deli to purchase some bagels for my husband. I reached into my bag and didn’t have my wallet. The young man working there said it’s ok dear, I’ll give you the bagels anyway on a “Pinky Shake” and you can come back later and pay me. All though I didn’t want to do it, I agreed “feeling obligated” to quickly pay I ran home across the island to retrieve my wallet so as to pay on our commitment. The gentleman working there said Hun, you didn’t have to rush! This is the way it used to be back in the late 60s and 70s when I was growing up. I came in to get something becuase I work outdoors. The gentleman was kind and was helping me but since i couldnt decide what i want a lady comes and goes "What do you need" when I hadnt come up with ehat to get. I work with customers. Its "How may I help you" or "What can I get you" she needs training. I left with just a tea instead of food.

We're new to the area and picked up lunch for our family while moving in. The prices were shockingly low which raised concerns about quality. We were delighted to find that all four of our dishes were both correct and delicious! Blue Point ahoy!

Great food, friendly staff, and they have a wide variety of items. My go to stop before getting on the Sayville Ferry.
