Fire-N-Spice Vegan Restaurant, Bakery and Juices

I definitely have a go-to eatery for when I am back in Hartford. Loved Fire N Spice. I ordered a build your own and chose my dishes. Wilted green, jerk tofu and lentils. I am always looking for good ackee and they had patties. The ginger hibiscus was homemade and super fresh with lots of ginger spice.

Amazing food! Absolutely worth a stop in, as it is just near I-84 and the vibes are really good. Prices are also very reasonable for the quality/quantity. The patties and samosas were deliciously warmly spiced, filling, and the pastry was flaky. It is so nice to walk into a shop as a vegan and just be able to pick whatever looks nice. The whole vibe of the place is not just vegan food, but also vegan ethics and community. My only note is that there is no bathroom, so just be aware if you are stopping in. The shop is very small, and so there is not space for a bathroom anyway.

The food was very good. I got a large platter and got 8 different items and tried lots of items that were new to me. I didn't like everything, but I could appreciate it was well cooked. The smoothie did need their recommendation of 4 dates. Thanks for that!

Chef Chris knows his stuff, he hooked me up. I was curious and so glad I stopped in. Daal and pumpkin spice patty were the best food I’ve had in months. Trying smoked Gouda patty and fire burger next :) run, don’t walk.
