The Field Memorial Library is a jewel, surprisingly grand in its quiet Hilltown setting. The building is a beautiful example of nineteenth-century architecture, with a copper domed rotunda, Italian marble, original woodwork, a spiral staircase. Built in 1901 by Marshall Field (of department store fame and fortune), the library was a gift to his hometown of Conway as a memorial to his parents, John and Fidelia Nash Field. The architects also worked on the NY Public Library. Worth a stop even if you are just passing through.
So good! We go there almost every week and now since it's added CWMars it's even better.
