Love these unique little restaurants! It was such a pleasure to meet Jill, one of there owners, Mark was busy preparing the food order. I ordered the Redheaded Stranger, onion rings, and a side of pit beans. The BBQ pork and sausage on the sandwich had great flavor; the bun was also very soft. Their onion rings were phenomenal, the batter was light and flaky! About halfway through the meal I realized that the pit beans didn’t come out with the order. Luckily Jill, had stopped by to see how I was doing. Once informed, she brought them straight out. She even brought out a piece of apple pie and offered an apology for the oversight. If you’re looking for something other than a fast food joint and want a great place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner give Festus Jack’s and try. You won’t be di
Great little spot. People are fantastic and very welcoming. We had a number of breakfast items and all were delicious. Pancakes, biscuits and chocolate gravy among others. Definitely worth a stop!
This location is cute, and tastefully decorated. I was saying before we went that it’s hard to mess up barbecue; with that being said, I wanted to love it more than I did. Honestly, the brisket was mostly fat, more than I prefer. The pit beans were good, though. At most counter-order establishments that I frequent, they’ll turn the POS and not leave the tip screen out; on the Saturday I was there, this was not the case. The young lady behind the counter was not too personable (she did not even greet us and was conversing with the kitchen as we ordered) but I tipped well anyway. All together, I felt as though this location was more suited to the locals than a tourist passing through town. I’ll give it one more try next time I’m in town, though. *hopefully it’s not showing as Five Oaks Barbe
Great little place , right on Main Street in Crane. If you are a BBQ fan, you will find something to tempt you. The fries are super crispy and the pulled pork sandwich was quite tasty. Housed in a unique space with a western motif, this is a great place for lunch or an early dinner.
Our family loves this place! We drive 20 minutes out of our way for the best burger around! We would much rather eat here than anywhere else around, even in Springfield. Everything is great here, especially the onion rings!
