Save yourself the trouble and money - this rental and the owner are bad news. Listen to me & many others - do NOT book this property or any others listed by the owner. We booked the entire feather hill as lodging for our wedding party. Immediately upon arrival it became clear things were not as promised - there were dirty dishes, broken glass all over the porch, no hand or bath towels, and other issues. Most notably, the suite we planned to stay in was a complete mess. Dirty kitchen & dishes, unclean bedding, etc. We notified Kai and he promised to send a cleaner out to take care of it - at no point over the weekend was it in a condition for us to stay in. At the end of our stay we negotiated a refund with Kai since we couldn't use the suite and there were inconveniences caused by the oth

My fiancé and I wanted to share the truly upsetting and unsettling experience we had at Feather Hill Inn in Pomfret this weekend. We stayed at the rental property with our 2022 wedding party as it was less than 15 minutes from Allen Hill Farm. We think it is incredibly important to share our experience with you all as it truly impacted our mental health and has completely ruined the “day after” our wedding. Thankfully, the actually wedding day was not ruined, just borderline awful. Kai Kunz is the property manager of the rental property and from the moment of signing the contract on, it was difficult to get in touch with him. I stayed at this property over the weekend. You do not want to stay here. It was pretty dirty (however, not the worst I’ve ever seen). It was also clear the sheets were not washed. The worst part was there was no hot water. The owner refused to fix it and made excuse after excuse. You would think that he would apologize for the issue and try to fix it right away, but instead he told us we were wrong and that the water was hot. Also, the steps were unstable and slightly dangerous. I would not recommend a stay here. It is clear from the previous reviews that other had a similar experience.

If I could give this review 0 stars I would. I had booked a weekend stay at the end of July back in May and had numerous emails confirming the stay. The weekend was PAID IN FULL prior to the stay. The morning of day 1 of the stay I called the owner to find out how to get into the house and I was told I would not be able to stay there because "it was under construction" He offered a refund at that point but I already had 5 people from out of state on their way to stay for the weekend so I asked if he had some where else to stay. The owner he said "I actually have a much nicer place you can stay in Woodstock." I forwarded the address to all the guest and when we arrived to what we thought "would be nicer" was actually an antique home with the entire front yard overgrown with weeds and trees,

We came to the Mallard Suite and the deck was in disrepair, no front door, dirty house, creepy, unsafe owner! Two junkyard cars parked out front, bugs and dirty linens on bed. The couch had dirt, vape pens and there were no extra linens. We felt scared staying there because the owner was creepy to deal with and he had a bad attitude. We left on the day of booking because we were afraid of something bad happening to us. Moldy conditions, floor not clean, unkept lawn and broken down items in the house and outside. No glasses, no cleaning products, weird pictures on the walls, mallard ducks and weird china everywhere in every room. The bathroom was dirty, floor in bathroom burned. Beware, you’ll feel like bugs are crawling on you if u set foot in the place.
