Fauquier County Public Library - Warrenton Central Branch

We as a family absolutely love this library. Having come from a larger area, we were so delighted to learn about all this library has to offer. The staff is always pleasant, and the library atmosphere is always very calm and welcoming. The children’s section is incredible. It is well stocked, organized and quiet. It is a hidden gem and I am even a bit weary to leave a review, as I’d hate for it to become overcrowded. We have found far more quality books here than in previous libraries nearer the more metropolitan areas. Being able to find classic children’s books is really important and quite difficult to do. I‘ve always loved libraries…and living in a town with this gem is a gift. The librarians are helpful with great recommendations, you can get bird watching kits on loan, and having a library card gives you access to not just this branches‘ materials…but the entire Fauquier County. And love the electronic books/materials through the Blue Ridge Consortium and Hoopla for movies! I read 218 books last year and at least 50% came from here!

I remember when libraries were sanctuaries of quiet study and reflection, where one could settle into a peaceful corner and think without distraction. Sadly, those days seem long gone. Instead of hushed whispers and soft page turns, today’s libraries feel more like bustling cafeterias—employees and patrons alike talking at full volume, oblivious to those seeking a moment of focus. The atmosphere is anything but conducive to reading or working, with noise levels that could rival a marching band practice or a jet engine test. It’s disappointing to see such a drastic shift in what was once a haven for learning. While libraries should be welcoming spaces for the community, they should also preserve the fundamental value of quiet study. A little courtesy and mindfulness would go a long way in

Love the Fauquier Public Library and the services they have to offer. Been coming to this place since ages to use the computers and surf the internet for books. Best one in town, very clean, tidy and everything is organized.
