We haven't been here in a few years, but we were not disappointed. We used to come here a couple of times a month when we worked in the area, and when we had a boat nearby. The restaurant is still owned by the same family and has expanded over the years. It's a nice, sit down restaurant but you still order when you come in up front. I don't think you can go wrong with the barbecue or the corn nuggets. The baked beans were good as well. Five stars!
We had a wonderful dinner at Fat Man's BBQ. My wife had to take me home in a wheelbarrow, haha; it's true to the name, I guess. They have counter service and then you pick up your food when they call the number. They do not normally accept tips, so the price is the actual price here. That was something I haven't experienced in a while. The lady working the counter was very nice and helpful, even though I took a long time picking what I wanted from the menu (since I wanted everything). The wings were A+. The best fried buffalo wings I've had in Alabama. They are cut & fried naked and tossed in a tangy mild buffalo sauce. Reminded me of back home. Everything was delicious. The ribs pulled right off the bone. The pulled pork was so tender; you know it had to have smoked for hours and hours
Love their barbeque and sauce! Also serve some of the best catfish I've eaten. Generous portions. A little pricey but very good. Only gripe is their business hours are not consistent so make sure you call before you go.
Overall, it was a yummy place. However, my pork was fairly dry. I’ll try sliced next time. It was chopped, so it may have dried out. The fries and green beans are very yummy.
Stopped in here on my travels for lunch and decided to give them a whirl. It's a walk up counter style of ordering, no table service. They did have quite a few things to choose from on their menu. I got the pulled Pork plate, pork had a good smokey flavor to them and they gave you a ample amount. Also, they gave me a bun in case I wanted to make a sandwich. I ordered baked beans and mac & cheese as sides. The Mac & cheese was cheesy, but not creamy cheesy, they were okay. The baked beans had pulled Pork meat in them, yet, they just tasted like they were missing something and just needed some help to tantalize your taste buds, not the worst, yet not the best i ever had. The sweet tea is sweet and has a moderate tea flavor. The atmosphere was very neat and clean, lots of parking
