Excelsior Boulangerie

What an interesting experience. A gorgeous space, comfy seating, fresh flowers all around, unique tiles, so many plants! But no one was in there. On a Sunday morning. There was no music either. It was so quiet. Only one person on staff. No coffee made either. It was beautiful and eerie. We ordered an arrangement of pastries and they were truly delicious!! The apple tart melted in my mouth! I will be dreaming of that. I really hope this place gets more support. It’s one of the few really great spots in Excelsior Springs.

I ordered a Carrot Cake for my husband's birthday & it was delicious!! The cake was under $30, and they only needed a day and a half's notice. I ordered this on a Wednesday afternoon and picked it up on Friday. Service was great. I can not wait to order many more cakes & try them all. Give the bakery a try, you will not be disappointed!

I will have to update more pictures later because I only got one. For my wedding we got a strawberry chiffon cake (pictured ), carrot cake, chocolate cake, apple spice cake, eclairs and crème puffs. Not only was everything delicious, it was beautiful as well. My guests went on and on about the desserts and we ended up with nothing left because everyone wanted seconds. I worked specifically with Saris who was wonderful from start to finish. So happy I chose this bakery for my big day and would recommend them to anybody.

It was like walking into a ghost town. There was nobody (literally) in the place at 10am on a Friday morning, no coffee made. The building and set up was beautiful but very dark and empty. The service was quite odd with minimal words and automatically put in a to go box. 3/5 pastries were very good 2/5 were dry. The concept is fabulous but we left with a very odd feeling. Left and went to another shop to get coffee. The sign said they were open for several more hours. Maybe we just missed something.

This is a nice place to visit or spend some quiet time. The cookies and bread are tasty and the cheesecake is wonderful!
