Customer Reviews
I can’t recommend this place enough! We LOVED our waitress Zoe, so helpful with all the recommendations and such a great and joyful person. Overall we had a perfect lunch and the lobster roll was the best of our life (I also liked that it wasn’t giant as I always see in America). Even the desserts, which were soft serve and hand apple pie, were amazing. I’m very happy I decided to come here. For what regards the prices, I think they reflect the quality, and compared Europe, the oyster’s prices were lower!
Eventide The building is clean and has a pretty, modern interior. Customer service was fine nothing particularly warm, but not rude either, just neutral. We came on a Friday around 5 p.m., and the restaurant was surprisingly empty with only two other tables occupied. We didn’t have a reservation but were seated quickly. However, booths are only available if you have a prior reservation. I ordered the lobster stew ($23), which was very small about 8 ounces. Flavor-wise, it was good: lots of mushrooms, a few large chunks of lobster, and a taste closer to coconut curry rather than tomato. It’s not creamy, which I didn’t mind, but the portion felt extremely small for the price. I’d estimate there was about one ounce (or less) of lobster. We also tried the clam chowder ($17 for 8 ounces). T
Their clam chowder isn’t like most others — it’s not thick, but light and soupy. The style is very similar to the one at Hog Island Oyster Co. in San Francisco. The lobster roll looks small, but it’s packed with meat. I really enjoyed it.
Everything was mid and salty as hell. The oysters were ok but it’s hard to mess up oysters unless you’re serving straight up dead ones. The clam chowder was loaded with the ocean, too fishy, but was salvaged by the pork bits. The scallop gyoza was just 90% gyoza dough with a single small scallop in the middle. The lobster roll was just loaded with salt, it would’ve been better if it didn’t try to clog our arteries. Now, the service… one server gave us an extra table to hold the oyster plate and another one came to take the table back, quite aggressively too. Not to mention, that same server also acted so condescending to me, mansplaining to me what a dozen is as if I don’t already know. Such a whatever experience 😒😒😒😒 I would say to avoid at all cost. Update: after 1h30 rest and a drink, I
Food and service were great. I do have some reservations about the pricing. Gluten free lobster roll was a Huge plus, and our server told us most of the menu could be made gluten free (they have a separate GF fryer). Small servings, but still delicious.
