Euclid Fish Company (Wholesale)

We bought these scallops from Euclid Fish Company, not the ones in water but the higher priced ones. We rinse them and put them in a egg batter and coded them with fish fry coating. We deep-fried them. I bit into them and it had a really funny aftertaste or taste not even after it was just bad and I said these don’t taste like scallops. So I ate them anyway because they were expensive very expensive. I thought it was the coding the fish fry coating and so we tried Flower coating and it was the same flavor so it was the scallops that were bad. We paid almost $90 for these scallops and we did not get what we wanted. Poor quality.

I have been a customer of Euclid Fish since we lived on 185th Street in Cleveland. Every year since I was a child we have purchased the Manhattan Clam Chowder and it has been a delight. This year- when I came back for Christmas we purchased said clam chowder (from your spot on Lakeshore) --mind you I am 47 now and excepted the same quality????? Several differences. Disappointed. Lack of liver and actual quantity** of clam meat in the chowder lacks significantly. Also- absolutely no "spice" ***no "kick" to the Manhattan-- . The recipe is different. These changes are noticeable.

I bought Cod and Salmon. The cod was good, but had a very strong smell. The salmon didn't make me sick but the last piece had such a strong smell that I threw it out. I didn't want to take the chance. I will try again, because I love seafood, next time I'll ask to smell before I buy!

Great selection of seafood to choose from! We bought some smoked salmon and lake erie perch. They iced down my fish for me and it was still ice cold when I finally made it home almost 3 hours later. We will definitely be visiting them again!

The fish is great and very fresh! The halibut and mahi mahi were superb!
