Elmo's Dockside

Elmo's dockside is another great place in CT if you are looking for a great place to grab a bite or beverage in Hartford check them out ASAP. You will love it.

Atmosphere was cozy but dark. I had to use my flashlight on my phone to see the menu. Waitress Patti was fabulous. I felt my portion of fish was on the small side, more like fish bite. But everything was tasty.

Very disappointed! It was my birthday last night and I wanted baked stuffed shrimp, which is what I had… totally bland, no flavor and the crab stuffing? Could not find any crab in it… we started with fried calamari, which were thick rings that you could not even chew, and we sent that back… my boyfriend got the seafood crepes and said the shrimp were like rubber, he didn’t even eat 1/2 and the waitress said are you done? And took it away…not even asking him if there was a problem with it, or did he want a to go box? I ate two of my bland shrimp and took it to go cause didn’t want my boyfriend to feel bad, but I won’t be eating it. The twice baked potato in theory should be good, but it was dry, dry, dry. I had a great time here! The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. I’ve always wanted a local place to get fried clam strips (a food I’ve loved ever since I was a kid but only ever got at the beach) and now I’ve found it! 5 stars and I will be coming back.

The food, service and atmosphere was wonderful. We started with crab cake meal with shrimp cocktails and oysters for our appetizers. Then we each chose a meal. I chose grilled scallops with salad and baked potato. They melted in my mouth. My son in law chose the mustard salmon with clam chowder and rice. My daughter chose seafood crepes with salad and fresh green beans. All meals very good. Finished with crème brûlée and Italian lemon cream cake. Waitress was very attentive, did not have to ask for anything. Even owner was very nice asking how things were. It was great. Cost very reasonable for what we ordered. Definitely go there again.
