Ellis Variety and Diner

The food here is great! But the service is not. The employees are very disrespectful and rude, making side comments and talking back with Attitude for what reason? Even with the ignorance I continued to get food from there but tonight was the last time. Every time I order the same thing. Tenders tossed in bbq sauce. And every single time iv got an attitude for it because they are to lazy to just do it even tho im paying for my food and they’re getting paid to do it! This time the guy on the phone said “why can’t you just dip it in bbq sauce.” I said “what??” He said “nothing” “got it” there’s no need for the disrespect point blank. Like have you ever heard of bbq tenders?? It’s a thing! And if you don’t do it you can just say “we don’t do that here” you don’t have to make side comments and

If you like a country atmosphere, Elliis is great. The place really captures the essence of small town Maine. It's a convenience store, restaurant, bar, they sell liquor and gas too. The food is great as well as the service. Everyone is very friendly, including the patrons, typical Maine hospitality.

I try to review the buisness and not the other customers comments but man... this place should be 4.9-5 any day so I had to look and see who is writing bad reviews. As an over the road truck driver I try to find the unique local favorite in different towns all over the country. I can only think of one or two place to rival this one, and I'm not driving back to NC or Mississippi just to grab some lunch. It's rare to find fries that would please my Irish mother and grandmother, but these might be the first to surprise them in a good way! Absolutely fantastic. We found you on the way out of town and so happy we did! The store has everything you need. We ordered coffess, egg sandwiches, Hasbrouck patties, and grab some fresh donuts. As you can see menu huge. We can't wait to come back. Thank you!

Decent small town diner. The steak hogie was excellent. The burger was good. Our server was super!
