On our way from Thermopolis to Boulder, we googled lunch spots. Elk Mountain came up & we called to make sure they were open. Ken (owner, cook, waiter, cashier, & busboy) said, "Sure, come on down." We arrived at 3pm & there was one family dining. We picked a table & Ken took our order of a Cowboy BLT & The Duke hamburger with house-made chips. The chips are a MUST. Please don't expect fast food here. Ken make everything to order, nothing is prepared ahead of time. The delicious flavors prove that point. As we waited for our lunch, we explored all the memorabilia that decorated this wonderfully quirky restaurant. Ken brought out our sandwiches & house-made lemonade and sat and visited with us. He said "no salads today" because his wife wasn't there. That was fine with me. The

This place is a gem💜. Homemade artifacts from the late 1800s. Owned by a couple who were supposed to retire but didn't. The food is as homemade as it gets. Tastes like your Momma made it. We had the cheeseburger with green chilies, grilled onions, bacon, pepper jack cheese served with lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles. Nancy who served us is the wife of the owner. She tells you about the history of the place and the town. We love history and to learn about where we are. There's a lot of history here.

Stopped in for lunch on our way through Wyoming and what a fantastic place! Amazing food and truly kind service. They were so accomodating and sweet to our 6 month old, letting her play in a walker and bringing her apple sauce and banana on the house. Had the Cowboy blt and Pathfinder burger and both were freshly and lovingly prepared and delicious! Would recommend this great place to anyone!

Well worth the visit. We stopped here on our way through and we loved the service and great quality burgers. Family run restaurant with quirky interior. Miss Nancy was a delight. Great for families and also fantastic for any global citizen. Ordered the Cheeseburger and the Sera.

Great food and great stories from Ken and Nancy Casner, the owners. Don't expect fast service, but this is great home cooked food with a limited menu. All super fresh, and some tasty recipes. The Sera Sandwich minus bun was delicious - fresh grilled chicken topped with spicy peppers, bacon and pepper jack cheese with spicy pepper seeds. The poorman steak was good too, burger with gravy, onios and mushrooms. Fries were homemade. Salad was good too.
