Tried this place for the first time recently. The menu is rather large - lots of choices which can feel overwhelming. My daughter had chicken taquitos and they were stuffed with meat, unlike most places. The meat was also very flavorful. She also enjoyed the rice. I had street tacos with pastor (pork marinated with pineapple juice)... Oh man was that AMAZING!! I would say it is kid-friendly as well as my daughter noted hamburgers on the menu as well. Service was fast and friendly. We will be back for sure!!
This is my favorite authentic Mexican restaurant in the 417 area. The owner is SO friendly and at this point every server knows our order by memory. They have great food, the guac and queso are the best, and the staff is friendly and always willing to go above and beyond. My sister and I have been coming here every week for like 8 years and never even think about going anywhere else for our girls day lunches. If they ever close, we will literally be heart broken. The decor is a little outdated as most places in Bolivar are, but regardless it's still a 10/10 recommend. 👌
We decided to try this place the other night. It was a Tuesday around 7pm. There were only 5-6 tables seated, we had no wait, and the hostess was pleasant. We both ordered an entree, which was served promptly and Hot! Food was good, service was great, and the place was clean.
At the suggestion of a co-worker, we had an early lunch at El Tres Amigos and I'm glad I listened to him! I LOVE family owned/operated establishments! Most of the time they treat YOU like family... and that's a good thing! The food was great, the prices were fair, and the service was OUTSTANDING! I'm not in Bolivar often. But when I am, El Tres Amigos will be first on my list for lunch or dinner. NOTE: Please don't let the photos of an empty restaurant deceive you. We were early, and it filled up nicely before we left. MH
My family and I had been here before and it wasn’t too bad. Last time I had the Fajitas and the flavoring wasn’t too far off from Authentic Mexican food. This time however I wanted to try a simple Carne Asada plate. I’m not sure what cut was given to me but it definitely wasn’t the traditional Skirt or flank steak, and it was just salty rather than the usual citrus or lime type marinade. It really just tasted like a normal American steak rather than Carne Asada. Also, I don’t understand the “Mexi-American” menu options of pasta. There’s nothing “Mexican” about Fettuccini Alfredo. Just seemed weird to me as part of the menu. Lastly, I’ve never seen Quesadillas with the cheese soley on the outside.
