El tapatio mexican restaurant

We were hesitant on stopping here because of the few negative reviews but this is our home and I want to support local business and it was by one get one free margarita. Anyways it was about an hour before closing time we were seated everyone was nice The food was excellent The margarita was excellent I don't know if they were just having bad days for the other negative reviews but definitely good food good service and great music will be back.

DOUBLE CHECK YOUR BILL!!! Absolutely disgusted, even gave them a second chance! I have been a huge fan of the El Tapatio Mexican restaurant in Union for a very long time. Whenever they opened up this location in Gerald, I was very excited. A few months ago I was having a really rough day at work and got home and didn’t feel like fixing anything and thought I would simply grab some chips and queso for something to snack on for supper. I drove to the restaurant asked the host for chips and queso, the gentleman comes back out and charged me over $20! I was so emotionally and mentally exhausted. I did not have the fight in me to even argue. I complained to a couple of friends, but ultimately let it go. Been here twice now. Both times, the chips have been stale and the A/C isn't on. The first time it had to have easily been 90° inside the restaurant! The food here is pretty good but nothing that would make me want to go here instead of better places out of town.

Went to Restaurant yesterday 02/20/2026. Excellent food and quick and friendly service. Definitely will be going back.

We finally got the opportunity to eat at this location and we were not disappointed! Well be back again and again! The chips and salsa were promptly brought to our table, love their chips and the salsa has phenomenal flavor. We ordered their salsa verde as well and it is super tasty. Our meals were prepared to order and have good sized portions, so delicious. And we had a picture of Margaritas too they are not generic like at some restaurants, it's SUPER GOOD - made with real ingredients (not a cheap mix and cheap tequila)!!
