El Tapatio Mexican Cocina & Bar

Today I turned 62 and my 3 boys treated me to lunch here. Let me just say that every single thing from the chips and salsa to tge barillia tacos and vegetable quest Dillard was absolutely amazing. Service was top notch, upon entering the place literally smelled like clove and cinnamon and then a want if home cooking. Everything tasted authentic and looked amazing. 5 stars. We will definately be back many times. And p s. I absolutely hate eating out so I dont give good reviews freely or at all. This place is amazing. 🥰

The chicken was dry, the tortillas were not soft, and the salsa was really watered down. And to top it off, no rice and beans with an enchilada plate - that's wild. Not worth the price. This place would go out of business in South Texas.

During the below-freezing temperatures of 01/25-27/2026 we stopped in to eat here. I had the shrimp quesadilla and my coworker had the steak quesadilla. We also had a large queso. The food came out in a very reasonable time and the service was good. We both agreed that the quesadillas were excellent and I probably shouldn't have finished it, but I couldn't (wouldn't) stop. This was my first time at this location. Every El Tapatio location I've been to (including the ones that have closed) have had great customer service and excellent food. Highly recommend.

Well, maybe that is another way to make Birra Tacos but it just didnt taste the same. A bit bland and the sauce (normally cures the corn tortilla) did not taste like Ive had about 10x other places. Nice place. Waitress was not really on it, had to go chase her down to get a refil and pay.

Sulphur, LA As a first impression I felt so respected as soon as stepped on this super clean building. Which also anticipated the outcome on the menu. Very organized team players wearing a sharp flawless uniform and assisting gracefully to the customers. Of course those dishes were well prepared and tasty touched by a Mexican culture. I recommend el molcajete dish which is hard to find in any other place.
