Customer Reviews
This was a little one day getaway first time we've been here and we both tried the California Burrito I did tweak mine a little bit and had cilantro put in mine instead of the lettuce but personally I don't feel it was seasoned enough I feel they need to more or less when you go to certain restaurants ask do you want your food Americanized or do you want actual authentic Mexican because I'm a person that wants the real Mexican flavor and we had a picture of Frozen pina coladas and personally I can barely taste any alcohol but they were very good and creamy but definitely needed more alcohol and this was definitely a local place this is one of their go-to cuz it was getting packed as we were leaving but overall it was okay
Definitely was not our favorite. They gave my wife raw corn tortillas with birria meat in them and called them Birria tacos.. Fell to pieces as soon as she picked them up. Tasted terrible. Wrong! My $13 cali burrito had hardly any beef in it. It was supposed to have refried beans in it but didn't. And the pico had some very raw hot onion in it that really took over on the taste. I'm gonna be tasting onions for an hour after my meal. Rice, queso, and chips were good, but nothing else. Maybe the locals are used to this type of stuff. We did not enjoy our meal and definitely felt ripped off.
Had one birthday drink and by the time we finished our meal and left, I was vomiting and sickly for the whole rest of the day. Won't go back.
I never leave bad reviews, but this visit to El Ranchito was really disappointing. The service—especially from the lady at the register—was extremely rude. I ordered a grilled veggie bowl and it had bits of steak mixed in, which is unacceptable. The rice was hard, the chips were greasy, and the bathrooms were honestly filthy. I really expected better and won’t be coming back anytime soon.
I first ate there when they opened up, which was several years ago, then a friend took me there again the other day as I hadn't been there in over 10 years. The food was better than it was when I first ate there, and the atmosphere is kind of like a small version of the old Tequilas at Harrisburg. The service wasn't bad but my menu felt and it looked like it hadn't been washed in 6 months. So it was hard to think about what I wanted to eat when I had everybody else's food already in my hands, so I'll let you decide, but that's my take, so I recommend carry out unless you insist on eating it there, as it will probably be the cleaner choice.
