El Potro Mexican Restaurant

My husband and I stopped here for lunch as we were driving back to the Twin Cities after a cabin weekend and it blew my expectations. The food was flavorful and the service was great. I was craving guacamole and it did not disappoint - very fresh and not overly onion/cilantro-y.

Staff is on the ball and there to serve you with what you need and without hesitation. The food is great and you get good portions for your money, if you wanted you could share a dish; but I like taking home leftovers for lunch or dinner the next day. The workers are friendly and willing to explain what the dishes are if you don't know. I personally love the Xtaupa fajitas with the scallops, shrimp and chicken, onion, green pepper, and pineapple. It's so yummy!!!!

Loved this place! Good and authentic Mexican food. Varied menu. Reasonable prices. Free chips and salsa. Good service. Clean restaurant and bathrooms. Convenient location and parking. Will go there again when I pass through Brainerd.

No frills dining room. Many times that's where you find the best Mexican food. Friendly service from the instant we entered the front door. Good food served quick & hot. Extensive menu.
