El Potrillo Mexican Grill

El Potrillo Mexican Grill is located on Lynnhaven Pkwy. near the intersection with Holland Rd. The place is not hard to see from the roadway. It's basically next door to the Car Spa. My most recent visit here was on November 24, 2025. This is an updated review from the original one from my visit on January 1, 2025. There have been no issues with parking availability when I have been here. The outside view is pretty basic with the business name and such on the building. After having a reply from them after my original review, and since I had a coupon from the back of a Kroger receipt, I figured it would be a good time to re-try the business. Visited this location recently and the food was really good! The fajitas and tacos were so flavorful and filling. Honestly everything on the menu looked good and I’ll definitely be back to work my way through the menu.

Service was great but food was a bit lack luster. Came for lunch and have to say while the service was good, the food a bit less. Maybe it was the time or day, but I was hoping for less cheese to be covering everything. I got a Chile rellano which basically was a Chile doused in cheese, no breading. The beef taco was ground beef in a basic tortilla shell. Having grown up by mexico and i have a set idea of what good Mexican food should be. Maybe I will go and try them one more time.

Great food! Friendly server! Best nachos ever! I rarely get nachos, but these were the best. Just moved back to VB, so it's been long while since my last visit, but the food is still fantastic years later! Glad to add this to our go-to list for restaurants. Can't wait to have a margarita next time!

We stopped in because we were craving Mexican food. I am not a cheese sauce kind of guy. They put it on everything. I asked for no cheese sauce and ordered shredded cheese instead of what the menu said. It came with cheese sauce. Very disappointing. Other than that, food was delicious once the order got fixed. I recommend you try it for yourself.
