El Pilon Criollo Restaurant

We are walking the boardwalk and what do we hear. Forgive me I know not what genre. I just know it was Spanish and jamming. Let's grab a menu to see what it's all about. We continued our walk knowing what we were going to have for dinner. We enter take a seat Server comes up to give us menus and take our drink order. Wife ordered lemonade I ordered passion fruit. We ordered appetizers Wife had tostones I had to try Yuca fritas. I have been wanting to try yuca fries for the longest. Now I have and they are Gooooood. Fried crispy while tender and fluffy inside. Tostones which were cooked perfectly. I ordered roasted pork with rice and beans. Wife ordered chicken rice and beans with a salad. The pork tender had to be from the pork butt as that cut in made perfect for pull pork. Seasoned nic

I was visiting from Connecticut and decided to Google a Spanish Dominican restaurant and little did I know this little gem popped up and I was so close. The atmosphere was a 10 out of 10 not to mention they were playing, my favorite songs and the food was even better. I was craving some rice and beans and I’m so glad that I stumbled upon this place on my next visit. This will be the first place. I’m stopping at the service was great And I enjoyed. I went for a second time before I left back home to Connecticut. I will definitely be back 10 out of 10.

The food here was amazing! Me and my girlfriend came here to eat for our anniversary and it was wonderful. My wife got the sunday special “Arroz Con Pollo Al Horno/ Rice With Baked Chicken”, and I got the “Pescado Frito Con Tostones Y Ensalada / Fried Tilapia With Fried Plantains & Salad”. The lemonade and passion fruit juice were amazing as well. I just wish the plantains were more crispy lol

Such a pleasant boardwalk dive with ocean views and the most friendly staff and awesome food. Beef alcapurrias were golden crisp on the exterior and carb-y soft on the mashed interior. Baked chicken was incredibly soft and juicy with nicely crisped skin. Spiced rice contained lentils which was a fun touch. Highly recommend!

Nicely located on the boardwalk. Carnitas, maduros, arroz, really tasty and flavored.
