El Mezquite

This place has a wonderful environment and staff and food. Highly recommend the birria tacos. They bring your chips and salsa free as you're seated. Menu prices are good and the food is very delicious. Very East Coast vibes for a Mexican restaurant. You know it's good when you get a gigantic plastic cup for your drink cup. 10/10 would recommend.

I ordered nachos. They were a special/new menu item, and I cannot remember the name - nor is it listed on their online menu. The menu description does include the word spicy, so I was forewarned. Let me say it was at my upper threshold of spice. My nose was running and my lips felt like they were beginning to swell … but it was so good! I did need additional sour cream beyond what is shown in the photo to help cool it down a bit. First time visitors should be aware, the building has seen better days, and it is not located in the typical restaurant area of town. Don’t let the location or apparent lack of building maintenance throw you - get in the door and order.

Great atmosphere and food. One of the servers was obviously annoyed with our group (birthday party of a coworker). He wasn't real bad. Perhaps just having a bad day. Salsa is some of the best I've had in a while.

Family friendly establishment, authentic decor and delicious food and not that long of wait for food to come out

First time customer. Birria bowl was really good. The Mexican street corn was not fresh. Would not order that again. Chips and salsa was above average. The smoked margarita tasted like orange juice. Decent chips and salsa. Service was average. Probably won’t be back again.
