El Mezcal Taqueria & Bar

Got take out from here- six tacos and chips and guacamole. The tacos are traditional tacos with cilantro and onion, and two different salsas on the side, as well as the two small corn tortillas. We had chorizo, steak and pork. The chorizo tacos were my favorite. The steak was just as good. However the pork one was a tad dry. Still rating this place as five stars because I love how it was traditional. Guacamole has as slight kick to it but it was some of the best. Chips seemed very freshly made. 100% will come back and hope to sit down next time. Update; came again in January 2026. Had a passionfruit Margarita and michelada and they were good. el Mezcal just recently opened. I had a combo plate which allowed me to choose the meat I wanted. It came with refried beans, Mexican rice, flour tortillas along with lettuce, tomato, guacamole and a both red and green salsa. I chose carnitas which were crispy and flavorful. The food was great. I certainly would go back again.

Amazing food for a really good price. I’m Mexican and I was able to find the treats and goodies I haven’t been able to find in NY only when I visit California. Definitely coming back

This was our first time and the food was okay and not great! The owner(s) essentially ignored us until we made it obvious that we wanted their attention and menus so we could order dinner. My food lacked flavor and looked pre-prepared. It was chewy and missing flavor, something that you wouldn't expect about Mexican food. My spouse's meal had some additional flavors and at least it was hot on a sizzling platter. We won't be returning any time soon, as we don't need to eat feh food with non-existent service. We were disappointed, as we were hoping to find a restaurant to which we could return for another great meal. Such is not the case at this establishment!

WOW not even in Albany was I able to find a place that had Horchata, Tamales, and Flan! Now I have it right in Gloversville?!? My husband got the Birria and it was better than anything I’ve gotten in Albany or Saratoga. The prices are incredibly reasonable and all of the food was amazing! Do yourself a favor and get over there for a delicious meal! We will definitely be back :)
