Customer Reviews
Birria meat has the best flavor in town! All other tacos are average/ok. Tortillas used are store bought as well. Customer service is outstanding though, especially for a food truck. I'd say Juarez taco truck is slightly better in my opinion. Or Las Bonita's. Definitely not a bad choice though.
If you're hesitant about taco trucks or fearful of getting a bad meal; you definitely don't have to worry about this truck. I'm always weary of reviews from people claiming they're eating food all over the world or drive 45min to eat. Real working people don't do that or have the time, this place isn't for the bourgeois. The food here is delicious and as close to Grandma's as you're going to get. I've been in search of the perfect Chile Reno burrito for years. I am close to ending my search. This is year 6 of my search, and El Forastero is tied for 1st place so far. For now, at least in Ventura county, it's 1st place. This truck is my weekly go to for a fresh fast meal. Thank you, Victor, for the great food and wonderful customer service.
May God bless these people always. They gave me an extra taco.. I won't forget this. Worship music playing added to a delightful atmosphere where I could praise and worship God while I waited for my 2 tacos.. later at home, I found out they added an extra one. How cool is that? The tacos were tops, too! I've been here about 7 times now.
I have been eating tacos my entire life. I have eaten them all over the world and all of the US. I have eaten amazing tacos, but mostly average. It is very hard to find a good street taco place, especially without driving hours. I found an amazing place in Los Angeles, except I didn't feel like driving the 60-90 minutes there. I have done it, just to go eat tacos. I had a closer place, but that place has been going down the hill for years. I figured I'd try a new place. What a disappointment this place was. I trusted the reviews, but I should have known something was off, considering they close at 10 pm. No reputable, and good tacos truck or stand closes this early. Anyway, I tried the asada, chorizo, and cabeza. The meats were just OK, definitely not worth driving 40 minutes. Add the
Stopped here because of reviews and location is close to home. Menu was diverse with multiple choices from tacos, chili rellenos, tostadas, etc. Wife ordered three carne asada tacos plus side of beans. I ordered a tostada and one taco of lengua. Meat in tacos was flavorful and plentiful and was served with grilled onions on the side plus onions and salsa either red or green on top. Wife loved the red salsa while I thoroughly enjoyed the green salsa. Wife said the red salsa was a perfect spiciness. Corn tortillas were good. You also get slices of cucumber plus sliced lemons. Ladies working in truck were very nice and friendly. Truck is parked on the South side of the Shell gas station. Wife said this is her new favorite taco place. We both recommend El Forastero for good reasonably priced
