El Fogón Veracruzano

Compared with some other Mexican restaurants in Columbia this one felt underwhelming. We didn't particularly like their Mole Pollo which came with two pieces of drumstick drenched in mole (sauce) which was quite nondescript. There was no vegies, guacamole or sour cream served with any of the entrees we ordered. I guess we were expected to order them separately. Also, they ask if they should serve us salsa and chips instead of bringing to the table like many other Mexican restaurants. We were overall disappointed with the food quality and also quantity.

Amazing Mexican Food in Columbia! Atmosphere: Bright and inviting Food: The food took about 15 Minutes but it was made fresh and well worth the wait. Beef Birria Tacos - Absolutely bursting with flavor, perfectly crispy shells tons of cheese and a savory consume that will knock your socks off. Chips & Salsa - Fresh Hot chips made to order! Sauce Tip: hot salsa is a must Drinks: Homemade Horchata, AAAMAZING a must get perfectly sweet and cinnamony Price: Very affordable and a real surprise to find in a city not known for mexican fare Parking: located on the street and Service: Awesome owners and recommendations, made me feel like we right at home. All was great, I haven’t been in Columbia very long and have just been exploring. I had looked up higher rated places to eat and this was one. All I can say is that the reviews with high scores(which is most genuine and authentic on my end),align with what others experienced. The food is extremely good and the staff are super friendly. If someone wants a nice looking dish with delicious tacos sitting there, then it’s the place to go. I’ve traveled a lot and some of the best I’ve had. Lived in El Paso, TX for a long time and tried a lot. This is legit delicious, authentic Mexican food, and if you want a friendly staff and great food, try it out.

Came to have tacos after we did a bike ride on the Katy Trail and let’s say we were impressed. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed, our server was friendly and attentive. But the food was definitely the star of the day. The chorizo cheese dip was something I’ve never had and was served sizzling hot and spicy. Our entree portions were enormous and absolutely delicious. This place will definitely be on our list of restaurants to return to !

Polite fast service. Fresh chips and tasty salsa. Amazing Aqua Fresca, the tamarind was great. Huge Torta! That I shouldn’t have finished half of.
