El Comandante Azteca

This is absolutely my favorite family owned and operated Mexican restaurant. I visit at least twice a week and the food is always fresh to order and the owners Paco, Sarah and Allen are always nice to me. The restaurant atmosphere is warm and inviting and they always have new things for me to try. My favorite dish is the Steak Taco dinner. They have a mango flavored water I love to order with my meal. I give this restaurant 5 stars and recommend everyone give them a try. You will not be disappointed.

We live in Northern California. While working in Chicago for over a month, we have searched to find good Mexican food that was priced fairly (unlike the pricing in our neighborhood; downtown Magnificent Mile area). While Google searching, we found El Comandante Azteca and all we can say is, "WOW". The service was excellent and the food was beyond our expectations. The complimentary fried/hot chips, home made sauces (orange, red and green), and home made pickled carrots, peppers, and cauliflower tops other restaurants. The food is delicious, authentic and large in portion size. GIVE IT A TRY; DON'T CHEAT YOURSELF!

2nd time coming here and the food is awesome! the first time i grabbed a huarache de alpastor. today i got a torta de asada. the meat is tender and well seasoned. the agua de pina was really good aswell.

Always a good spot for lunch or dinner during my break. Customer service is great! Food is generous in portions, with every dollar.

I frequently visit this restaurant 3 times a week. I service the area and with the price of dining on the go I can’t afford to risk eating at a place that is good. EVERYTHING at this restaurant is good. The service and staff are pleasant and I’ll never cheat on my favorite Mexican restaurant 🤣
