⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Honestly love El Chico’s in Norman. The food is always good and consistent, the portions are solid, and it’s one of those places you can count on when you don’t feel like gambling on a bad meal. The staff is friendly and on top of things, and the vibe is chill and comfortable. Perfect for family dinners or just a laid-back night out. Been coming here for years and it never lets me down
I have been enjoying El Chico from back when they were only in Dallas and Fort Worth. Got to give them credit for being the original Mexican restaurant chain. Aside from a few pricey chef prepared meals in San Antonio, El Chico is still one of the best. It’s a good value for dining out and the service is always good. Something I really like about the Sooner Mall location is the size of the restaurant. Lots of space and definitely not crowded. You don’t feel like you are sharing a table and conversation with all the nearby diners.
Worst experience ever had at a restraunt. Left crying because the rudeness. My son and me went here and I asked if they have a allergy menu. The waiter asked and no and I asked if they could no o ions on anything and a lady not sure if she was amanager or assistant or what told me everything in here has onion from the cheese sauce to the salsa. The meat and chi ken is cooked with onions. Then she said about all we can do is get a tortilla put some cheese in ut and serve you that. I was beyond shocked. My son looked at me and said let's go. I never have been so disrespected. Most mexican restraunts if you ask they will a accommodate you. Not El Chicos, never will we My whole family go there.
I'm disappointed in how the family dining experience has fallen. The waiter couldn't remember who ordered what for a table of 2. And they were not busy. I saw he only had 2 other tables. Then the biggest disappointed was the air in the restaurant. Apparently the proprietor thought put scent oil or whatever it was, was okay. As an asthmatic, clean breathable air is important. Because they putting scent into the air system, I won't be returning, ever.
We stopped in here while Christmas shopping for late lunch/dinner. The service was great and the food came out hot and tasty. They always made sure we had chips and salsa, and that our drinks were full. On top of all of this, their prices are pretty good. I split a Tex Mex for 2 for $19.99, which comes with an appetizer, 2 entrees, and desert. It was all great.
