El Cantenario Mexican Restaurant

I stumbled in here for breakfast on a weekend and was pleasantly surprised by everything; food, service, and the ambiance. The waitress was extra kind and attentive. Enjoyed the Chilaquiles w/ a cup of coffee. I would like to return and try the Enchiladas Mole for lunch sometime...They look fabulous! Definitely give this place a go.

This is the most authentic chile relleno I have had in Houston, their gorditas are very well served and made fresh. Omg and the chile relleno comes with hand made tortillas. They have aguas frescas made to order with fresh fruit….its a great spot, will definitely be coming back!

When you first walk in you’re greeted by the most kind staff ever! Yuri made me feel like I was having dinner at a friends house. She was very welcoming and recommended a couple dishes. I decided on the gorditas and I can tell you I did truly felt like I was eating a home cooked meal. Everything was fresh! Their salsas options are amazing! I always go for the green sauce but something about that red sauce makes me want to choose it over the green both are really good. I couldn’t decide on what to drink so I ordered a variety and my favorite hands down was the pineapple! So refreshing!!! I highly recommend to stop by and get a Gordita I was very satisfied I can’t wait to go back and try more items of the menu.

The atmosphere feels like a clean small office but the food is authentic, feels like a mom or senora cooked it in the back and brought that homemade food to you. simple and delicious. highly recommend this. Ate the taco plate, all great but the simple beans and rice really go well. would hope they add a slight bigger option for kids as just a quesadilla right now but they're still new. service is great.
